History of the Establishment and Development of the Faculty of Commerce

DEVELOPMENT HISTORY

The Faculty of Commerce at Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade was established under Decision No. 4363/QĐ-DCT dated December 31, 2024, issued by the President of Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade. The Faculty was formed through the consolidation of three departments: Marketing, E-commerce, and Logistics and Supply Chain Management. With an initial scale of nearly 3,000 students and a teaching staff comprising 2 Associate Professors, 10 PhDs, and more than 20 Master’s degree holders, the Faculty of Commerce has laid a solid foundation for development, contributing to enhancing the University’s position as a pioneering higher education institution in the field of industry and trade.

The establishment of the Faculty of Commerce not only aims to specialize training areas but also creates favorable conditions for the in-depth development of existing disciplines such as E-commerce, Marketing, Logistics, and Supply Chain Management. The Faculty also envisions expanding into new academic programs such as Commercial Business, offering a Master’s degree in Marketing, and strengthening international cooperation. These efforts not only meet societal demands but also reinforce the University’s standing within the higher education system.
